NIGHTBIRD DANCES

Friday, March 12, 2010 - Luck of the Irish Dance

Themed dances are held one Friday per month from 7-9pm at Eastmonte Park. Refreshments are provided.

Cost is $2 per participant and $1 per companion/family member/guest.

Prizes awarded for dance contest winners, costume contest winners & birthdays! If you have a group home or a large party, please call in advance and we will reserve your group a table(s).

STOP TRIPS

"Saturday Time Out for Parents"

STOP Trips take place one Saturday a month and are socially, physically and educationally beneficial field trips. Cost: $3 per person with lunch provided. *Feel free to send souvenir money for trips*

Fundraising Results and Upcoming Competition

Good Luck to the 60 members of the Sparklers who will be attending the JamFest FunJam in Kissimmee on Saturday, March 20, 2010!

Thank you to everyone who supported the Sparklers fundraising efforts. Their carwash on February 20 raised $1,105 for their upcoming competitions and their sponsorships raised over $9,700!

BALLROOM DANCING REGISTRATION CLOSED

Part Two is off to a great start!

City of Altamonte Springs - Special Community Services & USA Dance are proud to host the Special Needs Ballroom Dance Part 2, taught by instructor Dale Wenner. This season we have twenty-two dancers with special needs and a large bundle of volunteers. The group of dancing starts have started to learn the fox trot and are looking great!

BOWLING PRACTICES

Every Monday Excluding Holidays

Practice is held every Monday, excluding holidays, at the Altamonte AMF Lanes from 3-5pm. Cost is $1.75/game. Scores are recorded throughout the year and trophies are awarded at the Banquet with participant's high score.

This months dates: Monday, February 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

THURSDAY NIGHT OUT

Westmonte Park from 7:30pm-8:30pm

"Thursday Night Outs" are held on Thursday evenings, excluding the 1st Thursday of the month. They are designed to allow participants to get together and just have some fun! Events are held at Westmonte Park and time has changed to 7:30-8:30pm. Cost: $1.00 with refreshments.

BELLY DANCING

Wednesday, March 10 & 24, 2010

Our Special Needs Belly Dancers & family members meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month to exercise & prepare for performances. Location has been changed to Eastmonte Park from 6:30-7:30pm. Cost: $1.00/person. (Practice held once a month during Jan/Feb and Jun/July)

YOUTH PROGRAMS

Ages 5 and up

PLAY YOUR WAY, developed by Physical Therapy students from UCF, provides FREE opportunities for children ages 5-12 with special needs to participate in fitness activities while interacting with others. For more information, visit www.PlayYourWay.webs.com 

BAMBINO BUDDY BALL This division encompasses players ages 5-20 who are either physically and/or mentally challenged. This division makes allowance for a "buddy" to help the player swing a bat, round the bases, catch a ball, etc. Register today to take part in the March season. Please make sure to turn in your 2010 Medical Form. These must be on file for participants to take part in our activities. Forms do not need a doctors signature and can be completed by the parent or guardian. They can be mailed to you or can be downloaded by clicking here.
