Trips take place one Saturday a month and are
socially, physically and educationally beneficial
field trips. Cost: $3 per person with lunch

Themed
dances are held one Friday per month from 7-9pm at
Eastmonte Park.
Refreshments are provided.
Cost is $2
per participant and $1 per companion/family
member/guest.
Prizes awarded for dance
contest winners, costume contest winners &
birthdays! If you have a group home or a large
party, please call in advance and we will reserve

BOWLING
PRACTICES |

Every
Monday Excluding
Holidays
Practice is held every Monday, excluding
holidays, at the Altamonte
AMF Lanes from
3-5pm. Cost
will increase to $2 per game beginning on June 21,
2010. Scores are
recorded throughout the year and trophies are
awarded at the Banquet with participant's high
score.
Special Olympics Bowling:
Training scores will be collected for
Special Olympics eligibility starting on Monday,
June 21
BOWLING
BANQUET
Monday,
June 14, 2010 from 6-8pm at Eastmonte Park Civic
Center. Cost: $5.00 per bowler & $5.00 per
guest. This event will be catered. Each paid
bowler will receive a trophy engraved with his or
her high score! (Trophies are donated and may vary
in size and style) Payment and Reservations
due by Monday, May 10. Checks can be made payable
to: The Advisory Board for the Disabled, Inc.

meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month
to exercise & prepare for performances.
Location has been
changed to Eastmonte
Park from 6:30-7:30pm.
Cost: $1.00/person. (Practice held once a
month during Jan/Feb and Jun/July)

"Thursday
Night Outs" are held on Thursday evenings,
excluding the 1st Thursday of the month. They are
designed to allow participants to get together and
just have some fun! Events are held at Westmonte Park and
time has changed to
7:30-8:30pm. Cost:
$1.00 with refreshments.
*Please
let us know if you will be attending the cooking

End
to a Successful
Season
Congratulations
to the Sparklers for a wonderful season! Together,
the team attended over 8 community events and two
competitions.
Their
final competition was at the CheerSport Grand
Championship in Jacksonville Florida on April
10-11, 2010 and they brought home FIRST
PLACE!

The
athletes enjoyed a beautiful Banquet on
Friday, April 23 which included food, dancing and
a special visit from the UCF Spirit Team.
Registration
for Season Six will begin in October
2010. |

SWIM
LESSONS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL
NEEDS |

Researching
the possibility of offering swim lessons to
children with special
needs
The
swim sessions would include eight 40 minute
classes for $35/student. Classes would most likely
be held on Wednesday evenings at Westmonte Park,

Bills Lane, Altamonte
Springs Fl 32701 during
the summer. A minimum of 4 students is necessary
to hold a class and instructors teach on a 1:4
ratio (1 instructor per 4 students with special
needs)
